"We have made a reservation already a long time ago and got impression that the name of the hotel was changed recently. Luckily we are flexible and thus enjoyed our two nights stay in Chur West Mercury hotel. We had a very nice and clean room in 9th floor with a lovely mountain view to to direction. The room itself was very comfortable and the bathroom was excellent. Breakfast in the second floor restaurant was good and we were more than happy to enjoy all the fresh items available there. Our one week's journey through Switzerland has a perfect start. Thank you!"

"Spacious, quiet, modern room with a great view. Comfortable bed, good shower. Easy walk from the train station. No dining option for a Sunday night but we were able to find a restaurant at the adjacent shopping centre. Only negative was the weirdly shaped, flat pillow which I had to fold in half to get some sleep."

"Our room had an amazing view of the mountains through huge windows on two sides of the room. The room was spacious with a large bed (two duvets), and the large bathroom had a luxurious walk-in shower. I was also impressed with how quiet and dark the room was at night due to the thick windows, exterior shutters, and thick curtains. Unfortunately, the a/c unit, while definitely helpful, did not entirely cool the bedroom. The breakfast buffet was a really good spread and the staff were extremely helpful. The hotel is attached to a mall that has a full coop, but the hotel is not as close to the old town and the train station as we would have liked."

"Both front desk and breakfast place staff are kind and helpful. However my trip taxi from chur station to hotel was terrible, being cheated. While Taxi driver picked three of us at Chur Station, he stared fare meter without telling us total fare needed. Until we arrived Mercure hotel, he demanded CHF20 with no ground and without referring fare meter. Though we all negotiated at hotel desk with taxi driver, we were told private taxi driver can charge whatever they demand. We are ok if the taxi driver told us beforehand even at CHF20, the bad feeling is being cheated pretending to refer fare meter. I do not recommend Chur to my friends at all. But Mercure Chur City West is a good, cosy hotel to stay. With Regards Alex"

"Aircon was so noisy… and really hard to stop. Outside there was heavy constructions for the entire night… extremely noisy and disturbing. Probably the worst. Night I ever spent in an hotel because of heat, noisy and lack of air. Too bad I did get an upgrade in spite of my membership particularly since the hotel was almost empty! Would not have cost anything to hotel but could have made a big difference to me. Restaurant close because of holidays.. and could not even take a drink there. We had to stay on the sidewalk in front of building… for a welcome drink. I have seen much better! Not sure u will go again even it it was my fifth visit there, I was expecting much better service and special treatment!"

"I give good only because there are 2 days out of 5 days stayed in total was disappointed There were 2 days, I didn't request for room service but when I came back in evening to request for bottles of water at the front counter, I was disappointed by the staff. She said only a bottle per room, but my room is 3pax(my booking stated) and supposed to replace 3 new bottles each day during room service. The answer given was unacceptable."

"I experienced a much better experience at Mercure Milano hotel than at Mercure Chur hotel. First of all the clean of the room could be much better and secondly it was strange receive the earplugs because of the noise coming from nearby buildings, but in fact the noise comes from staff people cleaning the space at the room door. Surprise very positive it was the restaurant (very good restaurant) with a Portuguese chef (Sr. António)."

"I stayed there 9 days for a business trip. Everything arranged there is good, except when I called front desk ask the water in the room in my first day. I was told the water is only free serve for the first day stay from a male staff, two days later I realized it not true, every girls in front desk are very friendly, I like the restaurant staff, the long hair lady is best. One thing maybe can improve is the breakfast, it almost never changed in 9 days, it is too hard for me who don’t like pork and can’t eat raw food in this time."

"The hotel is located a bus ride (7 mins) away from Chur train station and is easy to find as it towers across the whole town. It's nice and modern with a welcoming reception. Although I had a problem with the Booking travel website not passing on the correct info, the team at the hotel were able to sort out a room change easily beforehand. Upon arrival, check-in was simple and swift. There was a wheeled trolley sitting by the front door to take luggage, so easy to get things to the room via the two lifts. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows were really thin, so we needed more, only there were no spares in the room. MAJOR ISSUE FOR FOREIGN TRAVELLERS Our biggest problem was that the plugs in the walls do not allow for travel adapters to be used. Each plug is made to allow 3 x euro 2 pin plugs to be inserted into the 1 gang socket but the shape does not allow you to insert an adaptor. This makes the room almost unusable if you do not have native 2 pin powered equipment. There was only one socket that was shaped to allow a travel adaptor and this was on the writing desk. This meant you can only charge one thing at a time which is crazy if you have laptops or mobile phones that need charging. Also it means that you are not able to dry your hair and look in the mirror at the same time. The mirror is in the bathroom and nowhere near the socket. I seriously can't believe that this is the case as a major oversight in the design, considering it's a hotel with travelling guests from all over the world. Also to note, although the room has a hob, there is no crockery, cutlery or utensils for cooking. I appreciate that they probably don't want people cooking smelly food, but with young children, we wanted to take food back to the room to eat, and this was then an issue. The staff are friendly, and the restaurant has a nice complement of food available for breakfast so all in all a nice stay with the only points being deducted for not having the eating apparatus and the pillows. The hotel sits on top of the shopping centre, so it is perfect for getting pretty much most things you would need, from food to a chemist to clothes and toys, etc. Just make sure you check the opening hours, as they shut early. I would stay here again but, upon arrival, ask for all the bits that are missing from the room and would also need to take a euro power extension lead so we could use the power sockets in the room."

"I had got there with my kid who was accidentally not registered but they didn’t create a fuss for that, which was an impressive quality in hospitality business. I’m impressed. Then the receptionist was very helpful with all my travel questions. One receptionist had also cleaned my floor late night when my kid dropped a tea cup made of glass by mistake. I was very impressed by their behaviour and capability. Amazing views from all their rooms! Well managed hotel. No tension if you want to eat or shop, mall is inside. "As a frequent traveler, I stay in many hotels across the world and have always found stains and dirt in toilet seats and stray hairs on surfaces or in their crevices, so inspecting my room is the first thing I do upon walking in. I was expecting the same disappointment here, as I have just come from a Sheraton where I was utterly horrified by the cleanliness of my room. To my surprise, the toilet seat was clean and so was everything else--not a single strand of hair, fortunately! The staff were also warm and hospitable, especially Gian-Luca and the lady whose name I forget but who helped us with our luggage for safekeeping before check-out. The other two ladies at reception on our second day also greeted us with smiles. This made our stay a good experience, and I'm looking forward to coming back in the near future."

"Our stay was great! The young lady at the front desk was fantastic and able to answer answer all our questions! I wish I could remember her name, but she was very kind and extremely helpful! The room and view were great as well! Our only regret is we didn't get more time there, as we checked in late, and had to leave very early for a train. Location was great, and there's a bus stop literally at the front door. We would absolutely stay here again if we make it back to Chur!"
