Check-in 3.00 pm/ Check-out 11.00 am. How to get there - by train: From the railway station, walk along the Bahnhofstrasse to Postplatz, turn left and continue to the first roundabout, turn right and after 20 metres you will find the hotel. By car: Take the "Chur Nord" motorway exit, continue along Masanserstrasse for approx. 2 km, turn into the Old Town, the Hotel Stern is on the left.

"Overall, I had a wonderful and comfortable stay at your hotel. The location was ideal, the room was excellent, and I truly enjoyed my time there. I would love to return in the future! Excellent Service and Delicious Graubünden specialities! The dishes are rich in flavour and tradition, though they might feel a bit heavy for some Japanese stomachs. Thankfully, there’s the flexibility to choose à la carte for a lighter option! But, it was great! The service was lovely, and the atmosphere was very quiet and relaxing. However, accessing the rooftop rooms via stairs might be challenging for elderly guests with large suitcases. For breakfast, I would suggest offering a buffet-style service instead of pre-plated meals, giving guests more options to choose from. That said, everything was impeccably clean and well-maintained, making the stay enjoyable overall. The room is well-equipped, and the inclusion of bathtubs is especially appreciated by Japanese guests, as soaking in a bath is a cherished tradition, particularly for the elderly. Highlighting such features is important when promoting the hotel to Japanese retired tourists, who value comfort and cultural familiarity during their travels! A charming atmosphere that reflects the rich history and culture of the area."

"The booking direct with the hotel was straightforward and the reception welcoming. The room was comfortable and quiet with everything we needed. Very good location both for the station and the old town. It made a good base for exploring both the city and the surrounding countryside. We had dinner in the very busy restaurant on the evening we arrived and the service was very good. Breakfast was well presented and the staff were friendly."

"The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast which had a wide range of options. We could not fault the service. We would be happy to make a return visit at some time in the future. The breakfasts were really enjoyable with plenty of choice. The hotel was an excellent base to visit Chur and the surrounding area. The room was very clean. Staff were very helpful in meeting my request for a room on a lower floor. "The room and amenities were excellent. The staff at reception and at breakfast were very friendly and helpful. The gift of chocolates travelled with us for the rest of our trip as a reminder of the lovely night in your hotel. The availability of European and international sockets for electrical devices was also good. As the first night in our Swiss holiday, this was a lovely introduction. Reception and breakfast room staff were very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent quality. Many choices to start the day. Enjoyed the wooden doors and the large room key. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The lift was an added delight. Large room which was very clean . Bathroom amenities were excellent,. Kettle with tea and coffee facilities was great, but no bar fridge may impact on a longer stay than one night. Genteel and friendly atmosphere with Swiss tradition as its base."

"Combine charm, understated elegance, perfect location in the old town, and friendly staff = Hotel Stern Chur. I loved walking everywhere, including the stunning churches and art museum. Easy stroll to the train station (starting point for the Bernina Express train - glorious - and so many other nearby destinations.) The sumptuous breakfast starts early enough that you can enjoy that before setting out. I had a delicious dinner in the charming restaurant, with Swiss specialties in an authentic Swiss atmosphere. The guest rooms have every convenience -- and yet are cozy. This hotel is a gem!"

"Food, service, and location were excellent. We, as well as our guests, were very happy. We would like to especially thank the effort put in by service even though our answers were late and, perhaps, somewhat unusual. Special thanks for helping us during our decoration preparation, for taking care of the bride and assisting her. If we had a plan to get married again, we'll have you in mind 😄 And we'd like the same staff (apprentice) to be there with us (she was great and lovely!). Excellent, especially the meat was very nice. We didn't stay at the hotel, so we can only speak of the Aperó and the lunch set."

"We have been staying every year at the Stern for around 20 years to enjoy the cooking in the Wild Saison, but were unable to come for 3 years following the Covid problem. We like the excellent service and good team spirit of all of the staff, and love the old world charm of the hotel's setting in the Chur Altstadt. Also, the hotel's Veltliner restaurant has particularly attractive and traditional Swiss Wood Panelling décor, and a delightful ambience. However be sure to book the restaurant well in advance, as it is very popular with the local people of Chur! We came back in October 2023 to see if the hotel and restaurant were as good as before Covid, and are very pleased say that they were as good as ever. As above A fridge was the only thing missing AS above"

"The only small issue, and it was partly my fault. I turned on the clothes heater in the bathroom to dry some clothes, but I didn't do it properly. And, although I turned it off, it kept coming on again. Perhaps some clearer directions are needed for dumb Americans. :)"

"Enjoyed our stay. When we checked in a very sweet young man helped us. He said we had been upgraded to a king bed. However, we found out that just meant two twin beds pushed together. It was rather hard to cuddle as the beds slowly slid apart. Very sweet lady in breakfast room. Pleased with room and staff! Very sweet lady in breakfast room. As Americans used to eggs and bacon, the soft boiled egg just did not cut it. However, there was much other to choose from. Good location. Clean and comfortable. Clean and comfortable except for the twin beds pushed together to make a king. For a very old hotel, everything was clean, updated and comfortable."
