Check-in 3.00 pm/ Check-out 11.00 am. How to get there - by train: From the railway station, walk along the Bahnhofstrasse to Postplatz, turn left and continue to the first roundabout, turn right and after 20 metres you will find the hotel. By car: Take the "Chur Nord" motorway exit, continue along Masanserstrasse for approx. 2 km, turn into the Old Town, the Hotel Stern is on the left.

"Fabulous hotel, staff are welcoming and friendly. Room was spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. Had a very good nights sleep. Location is perfect, close to station and old town. "The hotel has a lot of character, and is in a quiet location in a very pleasant part of the old town. It is very convenient for the railway station, shops and other attractions. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a good selection of food for breakfast. In a quiet location but only a short walk from the town centre and the railway station. "Room was clean and hotel exudes class and elegance. Check in and out process was very fast. Breakfast was lovely esp. with the made to order omelette. Location was perfect being near the train station and shops. Reception staff were also friendly and helpful. The only downside was the room did not have AC maybe because it was one of the older rooms. I should have double checked the room details upon booking. Anyhow, we just opened the windows. Front desk & breakfast staff were hospitable. Lovely breakfast. Really liked the made to order omelette. Welcoming front desk. Lovely breakfast. Very nice wall decor showing the old Chur. Clean room. "I have stayed here many years ago but wanted to do again. My refurbished room was wonderful with many wooden beams in it. The bathroom and shower were very fine and the whole hotel had a beautiful feeling to it. So glad I came back. However, having dinner here was the pinnacle of quality. Having moved into the quieter and finer dining room, everything served only plate was just exquisite quality. The meat & red wine jus and wild berries, served with the beef and veal fillets, was out of this world. All aspects of that dish, and my light chocolate mousse, were just fantastic - one of the best quality meals I have had in Switzerland, to date. Also, the Malanser Pinot Noir was a great example of that wine. I can’t praise the stay and dinner highly enough. Next time, it’s one of the 4 or 5 course “surprise” menus. As described above, just perfect in every way. Sheer quality of everything served only plate my plates. Fine Swiss Malanser wine as well. Top class! This felt a lovely place to stay and eat, in the main part of the restaurant."

"The hotel is very conveniently located, just a short stroll from the station, which makes it ideal for anyone travelling on the Glacier Express or the Bernina Express. It is also close to the old town, with a wonderful selection of interesting shops, cafés, and restaurants nearby. The staff were lovely and welcoming throughout the stay. On the downside, the hotel could improve its sustainability practices. At breakfast, plates were individually wrapped in cling film, which felt unnecessary and not particularly environmentally friendly. The budget room itself had everything needed for a comfortable stay, although the shower curtain could be longer to prevent water from spilling onto the bathroom floor. Overall, a pleasant and well-located place to stay, with a few small improvements that could make the experience even better. As a hotel restaurant, I would have expected the dining menu to cater for a wider range of dietary needs, including vegan options and choices suitable for people with lactose intolerance."

"Very lovely stay, hotel was wonderful experiencing the fire works over new year was an added bonus hotel was beautiful. My only little point was to make was we had a very early start and didn't have time to have breakfast. We went to the restaurant to pack a little something up to take as half board and was made to feel by a server uncomfortable. "We stayed for one night and did the booking over the phone with Mrs. Fromm. She was very friendly and helpful and was there to welcome us when we arrived. The room was big and cozy with a beautiful rustic wooden smell. The breakfast was average however the most disappointing part was the person serving it. Staff interacting with guests should have a training on how to be welcoming and pleasant, especially that it’s the festive holidays season. I hope management can provide such a training."

"Overall, I had a wonderful and comfortable stay at your hotel. The location was ideal, the room was excellent, and I truly enjoyed my time there. I would love to return in the future! Excellent Service and Delicious Graubünden specialities! The dishes are rich in flavour and tradition, though they might feel a bit heavy for some Japanese stomachs. Thankfully, there’s the flexibility to choose à la carte for a lighter option! But, it was great! The service was lovely, and the atmosphere was very quiet and relaxing. However, accessing the rooftop rooms via stairs might be challenging for elderly guests with large suitcases. For breakfast, I would suggest offering a buffet-style service instead of pre-plated meals, giving guests more options to choose from. That said, everything was impeccably clean and well-maintained, making the stay enjoyable overall. The room is well-equipped, and the inclusion of bathtubs is especially appreciated by Japanese guests, as soaking in a bath is a cherished tradition, particularly for the elderly. Highlighting such features is important when promoting the hotel to Japanese retired tourists, who value comfort and cultural familiarity during their travels! A charming atmosphere that reflects the rich history and culture of the area."

"The room and amenities were excellent. The staff at reception and at breakfast were very friendly and helpful. The gift of chocolates travelled with us for the rest of our trip as a reminder of the lovely night in your hotel. The availability of European and international sockets for electrical devices was also good. As the first night in our Swiss holiday, this was a lovely introduction. Reception and breakfast room staff were very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent quality. Many choices to start the day. Enjoyed the wooden doors and the large room key. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The lift was an added delight. Large room which was very clean . Bathroom amenities were excellent,. Kettle with tea and coffee facilities was great, but no bar fridge may impact on a longer stay than one night. Genteel and friendly atmosphere with Swiss tradition as its base."
